At Urban Cove we have just started working with a new up and coming designer Francesca Knightly with her brand Fabulous Flamingo. Founded in 2009, Fabulous Flamingo started by a love of paintings and originated from original acrylic canvas paintings by Francesca. The Fabulous Flamingo range enables everone to adorne a piece of art!

We asked her how she got into fashion; “I have loved painting from a very young age. Painting is a brilliant way to express yourself and I feel that they are an extension of my personality. I find them incredibly rewarding and enjoyable to do and I find real pleasure in people liking my work.
Most of my artwork is acrylics on canvas and I usually paint for other people. I draw much of my inspiration from peoples loves and hobbies.
After leaving school with my best GCSE being in Art & Design I chose to take up an Art & Design A-Level course at Exeter College.
Studying Art History at college introduced me to my favourite artists Roy Lichtenstein, Peter Blake and my all time ‘hero’ Andy Warhol.
The Pop Art era is without a doubt the most influential art movement to me, which I feel inspires all my paintings.
After college I then chose to move into the Fashion world by attending Kingston University. Although painting was kept to a minimum I always produced paintings as gifts for people.
One of my favourites has to be The Beatles as I am a massive fan!”
