Rock Band the video game will not be releasing a new game this year as confirmed by the developer, Harmonix. Rock Band is a music video game that allows up to four players to each play a musical instrument to popular Rock music songs. Players can play the lead guitar, bass guitar, and drums parts to songs with instrument controllers and are scored on their ability to time the right notes with whats on screen. This annoucement comes as a huge disappointment with the deceace of the Guitar Hero series but Harmonix have said that instead they will focus on new downloadable songs for Rock Band 3. The Rock Band series has been very successful in the past with 100 million songs downloaded by users and has achieved numerous awards.
